In the coastal town of Rockmere, the sea takes as many lives as it saves. Darren offers Cordelia a deal: he’ll bring her safely back to her fiancé as long as she repays him by getting the pearls from Reid. With Darren and his crew, Cordelia begins to feel accepted. But as they battle undead creatures and powerful magic, they learn there is more connecting them than meets the eye. And as Cordelia uncovers the Sea God’s history—including his missing wife—they must both face the most terrifying thing of all: their past.
